Growing Paper produces handmade paper with a twist, our paper is embedded with seeds that will grow into flowers once you have planted your used product. We make our handmade paper from post consumer waste paper and process it to make our lovely range of environmentally responsible products

Since the paper making process uses large amounts of water, we reuse our waste water for farming activities on the farm where we are situated. Our products are printed with waterbased ink, furthermore our products are made in such a way that any part of the product which isn’t plantable, is either biodegradable or recyclable.

ABOUT OUR PAPER

  • At the moment we have flower seeds in our paper: Alyssum and Snapdragon as well as herb seeds: Basil and Wild Rocket
  • We choose our seeds carefully so that they are mostly all rounders. Alyssum and Snapdragon can germinate in most climates and seasons, being careful of course for extreme cold and over exposure to sun
  • Our paper is made of post consumer waste paper, as well as water hyacinth, bull dung and river reeds (All separate kinds of paper)
  • The paper can be printed on with almost any printer, including your own bubble- or inkjet printer at home

HOW TO PLANT YOUR PAPER

  • Prepare a patch of weed free soil
  • Place paper a few millimeters under layer of soil
  • Water and keep moist during germination
  • Watch your little plants grow from paper!

PRODUCTS

  • GIFT CARDS: Our cards with wording come in both English and Afrikaans. All cards come with coloured envelopes
  • GIFT TAGS: Gift tags come in packets of 5, they can either be mixed or all of the same design
  • CALENDARS: At the end of every month you can plant a page and have flowers all year
  • POST CARDS: If you know someone doesn’t have any more place on the fridge, send them a postcard they can plant instead
  • PAPER: Our paper is also available in A4 sheets and come in packs of 5. Larger sizes are available on special request
  • WEDDINGS: We have everything you need to keep your wedding stationery leftovers to a minimum; from invitations and envelopes to table menus and confetti
  • PROMOTIONAL: We do various kinds of promotional items including; business cards, flyers, brochures and swing tags
