NomadsOn2Wheels is my journey by bicycle, from Zurich Switzerland to Cape Town South Africa. If all goes well I will be traveling for at least six months and hope to cycle at least 10,000km (6,200 miles). I will travel without a support vehicle which means I will be transporting all my equipment, food and water with me on my bicycle

Modern conventional modes of travel and tourism are often at blinding speeds thereby creating artificial barriers between traveler, locals and mother nature. I want to experience and interact with the people along the way and be immersed in the natural environment. I believe this to be a truer, more valuable way of traveling as apposed to jet setting around the globe at breakneck speeds.

I am using this journey to raise money for an education charity called Ikamva Youth. I am also collaborating with an international NGO called Engineers Without Borders to facilitate future development projects. Last but not least, I hope to inspire the people following my journey to follow their dreams and escape from the everyday rat race. I strongly believe that there is more to life than the urban lifestyles largely based on materialistic and monetary values that so many people aspire to
