The initiative of St Malo Intelligent Technologies has brought the ability for a person to eat a fully nutritious meal for R4.oo. Their products are extremely low-cost, dehydrated, flavoured and nutritionally balanced, as well as providing for special needs like those with HIV/AIDS.
The statistics of starvation are staggering – more than 50 000 people die every day in Africa. Never mind the undocumented repercussions of under-nourished cases which are in the millions and how that effects learning and growth capability.
