The Get Real Youth Program was created by Hilda de la Rosa and is aimed at high school learners. The one day course is facilitated by 20 professional psychologists, therapists and life coaches who work with the entire year (approximately 300 learners). The learners are taken through various processes whereby they are taught that no matter what difficulties they are facing in their lives, they have the power to respond with either love or with fear, thus becoming either empowered or dis-empowered.
Our youth are facing challenges ranging from neglect, racism, abuse or poverty and are unfortunately not equipped to deal with the issues on an emotional or mental level. This not only effects their academic learning potential, but also who they are as people and how our society will be effected by it.
The program instills the tools that are missing within these learners and that their families or schools may not be able to provide.
